Hey there. I got this JA-500 about a year ago from a second hand guitar store. The other day i tried to find some info on it but google didn't return anything. Anybody seen one of these before or got any info on it? All i know is that it was made in '84 (from the serial number). The serial starts with a number and not a letter - strange? btw the guitar doesn't have a pickup. } |

Also, The tuners are 'ibanez smooth tunerII'. It doesn't have a pickguard now, but i'm pretty sure it did, cos u can see where it used to be if you hold it to the light. Its also possible that the ibanez emblem on the headstock was removed as well. The closest lookest thing i found to it was a V500- My JA500 has got an arch when looked at from the side, but its not as pronounced as that on the V500s. Its got a "racing stripe" on its back like the V500s too, but the fretboard inlays are slightly different. One more thing, on the inside of the guitar (near the truss rod bolt) theres a 6 digit number stamped there - 206098, although the last few digits aren't quite readable. Any ideas? Cheers |

They just sold one on Ebay Germany http://cgi.ebay.de/Ibanez-JA500-Martin-Saiten-Vintage-Pro-Specialist-Serie_W0QQi temZ7402590640QQcategoryZ46642QQcmdZViewItem I think €276.- is rather cheap for a nearly vintage solid cedar top jumbo. Good buy. Ginger |

Cheers guys - much appreciate the info! How'd you guys go about finding all this out anyway? All my ebay Germany links from google don't have the actual page. I got it for about US$430 a year ago so i'm pretty pleased with it since it sounds better than most other guitars in its price range. In good nick too, only a few scratches - most people who see it think it brand new! Ian |

Hey, I've got one to with serial no 84070070 that would be 2 numbers above yours. Mine was found in a garbage room here in Stockholm, Sweden and I rescued the guitar from destruction! It had to be renovated and now its working just fine. Where did you by yours?
