Hi all!
I just wanted to show you all what I have found at my local guitarshop. I have borrowed it for a few days to try it out and itīs not going back there. They want €410/$520 for it, itīs in good condition only a few small dings but some frets are a bit worn. Should I get the guitar refretted? What do you think.

Nice one Ulf...maybe just a dressing will do???, seems it still has some meat left there that a dressing maybe all that is needed...instead of major surgery

Ulf,

Go for it. I've got the jumbo version of it and it's a such a great guitar.
Was it in Stockholm? I noticed the Crafton label at the back.
If you change your mind, please let me prior to handing it in.

Hi Jcmc64 and Steph.
Iīll wait with the fretjob and just play and get used to it. It has a wonderful tone and fantastic sustain. Steph, you are right about the Crafton label but itīs not in Stockholm itīs in northern Sweden and sorry I wounīt change my mind - Iīm keeping it. Do you guys know if this model is a copy or if itīs an Ibanez original, at least the head must be their own design. By the way itīs made in April 1977.

Ulf,

It's their own models which came in 78.

I have the german catalog from these years and these models are slightly more expensive/higher quality than the copies they made the same year.
This Artist series included 8 models (prices in former d-marks):
- 2600/6 cutaway, dot (788)
- 2601/6 white pearl boxes inlays with stars (571)
- 2602/12 (595)
- 2603/6 (695)
- 2604/ maple back (747)
- 2605/6 jumbo - the model I have (767)
- 2608/6 (702)
2609/6 tope of the line - yours (847-)
as a comparison the most expensive copy 78 costed 728, a 12 str jumnbo all maple.

Thankīs for the info Steph. The frets on my 2609 seems quite low and flat even the ones that are not worn, how do they look on your 2605?
If you are collecting Ibanez guitars these might interest you, they are for sale in Sweden and if you want a translation Iīd be happy to help out.
