Hi,
Just got this lovely, but well used Ibanez full size j200 jumbo.
It as an early 80. A800625 (the serial number is on the inside of the neck joint not on headstock.
The model is called J-500BSE, and the E seems to stand for the built in PU, with 2 controls built in.
J-500BSE
Haven't seen anything like this before. Have you??
Please advise! Yours
/Steph.

Six,

Interesting right...(lets see if some of the others seen one?). The sounds is darker the 70's I have, the top seems thicker, the action is super (bought it from a pro who found a new Fender...)

On the subject of nice acoustics - did you see the sunburst Everly Bros copy on ebay.uk last week. Looked a ot like your old one . I totally lost it (was travelling).....

I'll look into a group shot in the weekend...stay tuned.

Hi Steph

No I didn't see it. Can you send me a link please if you still have it in your history?

Funny, you mention my old one. I heard it's taken a turn for the worse. Apparently the bridge lifted. Not sure what this is down to but I am trying to find out.

Steph:

Looks very unique to me. I can only find the J500 without electric in the '79 catalog. Very cool find.

I saw the Sunburst Everly Brothers copy... looked very cool/retro! Had my eye on it but was a little sketchy about shipping an accoustic from overseas. Nice find, haven't seen one like that either!

John,

Agree - seems to be an odd one. I just bought the 82/83 full acoustic catalog for germany on ebay.de - so lets see if they took the "e" model to europe in 82, even if this was an early 1980 model?

Six,

Here's, on request, the small Ibanez acoustic collection by today- Think you see why I was out for the Everly Bro ;-)

In order of apperance:
- J500 BSE, 1980
- 2605 Artist, 1978
- 684/6 Concord, 1977
- 754M Concord, 1976?
- 698M/12, 1978

AC_COLL_STEPH
A black 698 would fit well in too. (anyone?)

/Steph.

OK, I LOVE the Artist... I must keep an eye out for one for sale somewheres! I'm a nut for Artist accoustics! Beautiful stash you've got there!

Thanks Steph, they look very cool.

I'm still trying to check out what's happening with the old Sunburst Everly. Will keep you posted but I don't think it was the one that got away from you on ebay.
