That was a custom AE model done for Paul. It was based on the AE40 (which became the AE45, which is no longer offered by Ibanez, but the AE30 is pretty close...). Hope this helps! |

Jim: Your reply brings up another question of mine. Is there a rational scheme to how model numbers work? I have a '98 acoustic catalog that only shows up to AE25TS. From your above info it went to AE45, but now is back down to the AE30. Even wilder numbers have shown up with the Artists. Have seen AR3000 & 5000, but now they are at 2000, 200 (is there a 250, now?) and 700. In the 70s & 80s they were 100, 200, 300, etc. I can't even follow the numbers on the S, RGs and Jems. Is somebody just picking these model numbers out of a hat? Something else: What's the plan on serial numbers for the change of the century? 00 maybe? Thanks, |
