Hi What is the heaviest gauge you can use on a ibanez v300bs series guitar? Has anyone used .13's on them? Thanks |

Staalburger: I'm sure the V300 will survive using 13s. Martin makes several string sets that go from 0.13 to 0.56. Depending on what's on it now, you might need to make some setup adjustments. |

I would caution against 13's. It's been my experience with the earlier Ibanez acoustics that they sound better with really light gauges anyway - especially the dreadnought bodies. If you really must go heavy and want to standard pitch tune then stick with 12's. Cheers Russ |

Hi Thanks for all the replies. If I were to go to .13s, what setup changes will I have to make? It's a fixed bridge so there isn't a lot that we can do about that. Should I resetup the nut? Thanks for a great forum. |
