Hallo,
yesterday I bought a second hand Ibanez AW800. Nowhere in the web I could find informations about that guitar. Maybe anybody could help and give me informations about the date of manufactoring (serial number is 99050536) and the original price of that instrument. It is a really good sounding guitar with a bright and well balanced tone. If you play picking or flat pick, the guitar comes fast and accurate without preferring single notes. I am happy.

That's one great looking acoustic! Never seen one with a vine. I haven't run across any info on an AW800 model (just AW500 and AW900). But the serial number suggests a 1999 manufacture date. Maybe someone here has a 1999 acoustic catalog? It's not shown in my 1998 or 2000 acoustic catalogs.
I was very surprised to see that it was made in Korea. I thought for sure it would be of Japanese origin. But I do see a picture in my 2000 catalog of the back of an AW headstock and it too says "Made in Korea". You learn something new every time you look into the catalog. |
