Just wondering if anyone could give a little info on this guitar. I just picked it up at a flea market in Switzerland for about $60. It's in good condition and sounds better that my Martin! How old, what's it worth, etc. Thanks |

Some of those Concords were excellent guitars. $60 is a great price for any old Ibanez acoustic. You scored big time! It is probably a mid '70's vintage. Cheers, Mark |

Wulfman: Check out the Acoustics page at IbanezVintage.com. Here's the URL: http://216.250.245.172/acoustic.html There's a scan of the catalog page (I think it's from 1978), that describes the guitar as: Hand polished, jet-black top, back and sides. Fine grain spruce top with deluxe wooden marquetry around the sound hole. (probably not a solid top) Fancy shaped rosewood bridge. Chrome plated individual machine heads. There are dimensions, but I can't read them. There is a price list (probably from 1977 or 1978) that states: #752 D size jet black body 220.00 What it's worth now is hard to say. The market for used Ibanez acoustics is nothing like that for Martins. Certainly more than $60. If there's nothing wrong with it, the original price is a good place to start. How old is it? A serial number would help. If you don't see one on a label or the back of the headstock, check inside on the neck block. |
