I wonder if anyone can help me. I've got an artist 2608 and for arguments sake I wanted to know a rough price. If anyone knows the price or knows anywhere that would please answer. Cheers |

2608? Not familiar with that model number. Does it have a serial number? Market value is subject to the whim of the buyer. I'm starting to believe it's also affected by the phases of the moon... Cheers Steve |

Frunt2back: That's a hard one to fix a price on. They don't come up that often. I was hoping that someone who has one would jump in. I thought Maniac Mike had one. They are good guitars, but not known well enough to generate the kind of steam (and increasing value) that many other acoustics have. Steve: Do a keyword search on the number and you'll see one. An "Artist" dreadnaught. Hey, I forgot about the full moon, that would explain things! |

Cheers 4 replies lads. Just out of interest, does anyone else not touch electric guitars and play purely acoustic? Shoot the moon |

Frunt2back, John is close, I have 2 Artist Acoustics, but not the 2608. He is also right on the money about them not being as well known and generating the escalating prices of some of the better known electric counterparts. (Until someone actually plays one and swears they have to have it) The 2609 is a very nice guitar to me and I believe I paid around $500.00 for it when I bought it. My good friend calls it a "cannon" and it plays and sounds much better than the lower end Artist model that has the bridge height adjustment screws and thinner spruce top. He is a much better player than I and frequently comments that you would have to spend over $1000.00 to get a similar sounding acoustic these days and even with that, you would have to hand pick one of the better ones. For what it's worth,he actually prefers it over his Martin for tone and playability. My favorite thing about it is the neck and full bottom end. Still,my 2609 sounds better in his hands than in mine just as you can tell when Eric Clapton has a a Strat in his hands wether it is a $500.00 one or a $15000.00 vintage one... Maniac |

Post a picture of that acoustic. These are some cool guitars. Also check the thread below for some Artist acoustic commentary... |
