Hi Tamer Yes, it is. A very old one (metal pickups, metal truss rod cover)) from the early seventies. Some black Ibanez Jazzbass examples had a matching headstock and the tuners with the black wings. I´m chasing it already and I placed a bid, because I´d love to have it in my collection, inspite the neck crack. My user name is Harrykruis. Kind greetz, Harry |

As far as I could find, it could be a 2365B from 1971. The standard colour was sunburst. Perhaps the wood underneath wasn't so beautiful. Those humbuckers look the same as on my Hondo II ash jazz bass. I believe it's an H84. It's missing the smaller chrome cover. It's nice to see this one still has all original parts. Ginger |

Tamer Thanks for helping me to get this bass in my collection by stepping out as a bidder. I just won the auction at 131 Euro (175 US dollars). Hopefully the headcrack can be restored. And I surely can recommend a Silver Series Ibanez Jazzbass. I own a few and they are great. Thanks again for not being a competitor in the Black jazzbass auction. Kind greetz, Harry |

Dear Tamer, Would I recommend Silver Series Jazz Bass copies? I can't speak from my own experience, because the only Ibanez bass I own is a later Precision Bass copy: a white Roadstar II RB630 with a rosewood fretboard and a black headstock with a Fuji Gen Gakki serial number. So from the woods I can say that Fuji Gen Gakki knows how to build a good bass, but I can't comment on their jazz bass pickups, because I never played them. But, if you know that Fuji Gen Gakki was chosen by Fender to build their Made In Japan series (starting with JV serial Squiers in 1983 and later in 1987 with Fender Japan and in the nineties their Squier Silver Series like the Hank Marvin model and Fender Japan Photo Flame series from strats to jazz basses), they must have done something right. So, from these deductions I would dare to recommend any Fender copy from the Fuji Gen Gakki factories. They know what they're doing. I've never been disappointed. Ginger |
