Hi All, Great site! I just picked up this El Degas LP copy and was wondering if anyone could provide me with some information on it. Please see the pics. It seems to be in great condition. It has no serial number that I can find and only has "Made in Japan" on the bolt-coverplate. I believe El Degas was manufactured in the same factory in Japan as the Ibanez "lawsuit" LPs for sale to Canada. Any help on ID, age, componentry, etc. would be great. Thanks, Darren

I've never seen any firm indications of who made guitars in Japan for El Degas. However I suspect they may have used more than one factory over the years they sold Japanese made instruments. El Degas production eventually switched to Korea at some point. The name was owned by a distribution outfit called B&J which was eventually acquired by Kaman/Ovation. |
