The original neck was replaced with a Japanese fender bullet neck...def not from the 60's. It's a bolt on where the original was not? The holes where the plate would be on a bolt-on neck have screws deep in them? Can anyone describe what they think this guitar has gone thru..whats original and whats not? Are there any pictures of this type of Ibanez in it's original form out there that anyones seen? Would you post them? The neck is now attached by two screws, upper left and right below. The old ("original Ibanez") holes are not used I think. All electronices are messed with thoroughly. The medallion/plaque is more or less located in the same place as the Gibson version. The Gibson plaque bore the edition number where as the Ibanez plaque tells the buyer what a top quality instrument it is. This particular bolt neck 2387 model isn't as sought after as the set neck 2387DX Ibanez version but a 2387 in good condition is still a good buy and forum members who own them really rate them. Prices can vary as usual depending on conditon and originality and what country you live in . I guess I should say hello. I only have the one Ibanez, or should I say Ibanez/Fender/Carvin ! This is my first Ibanez, or mostly Ibanez. I have to say that I was impressed with the quality of wood on the body. The center section is made up of two multipiece slabs. Then it's capped front and back with a beautiful, deep grained, single piece of wood. My photos don't do it justice. I say capped instead of veniered because it's at least 3/16th of and inch or thicker. Unfortunately, the body and bridge/tail was all that was left of the original guitar. I do have three Gibson Medallion Flying Vs in my collection and I had the neck on the Ibanez body mounted the same heigth and angle. I also had the Buzz Feiten tuning system installed. Anyway, Hi, my name is Dean. I hope you enjoy seeing how I rehabilitated the ibanez/fender/carvin.
