Author Message Kevin Username: Kevin Registered: 12-2005 Posted on Sunday, December 11, 2005 - 8:18 pm:    Hi all!! I think I may have small dilema, and hope you can help. I have (what I believe to be) a '76 2451 (L6-S copy). The problem is there is no name on the headstock. The serial# on the back of the headstock matches the Ibanez system. Although under the tail piece the model# L5-S is cast in. I've researched this for the last couple of months, and haven't really gotten anywhere. I guess it really doesn't matter because the guitar rules!, I just thought i'd ask. The L6-s clones are some of the most accurate copies I have ever seen, right down to Mr Lawerence's epoxy potted super PAF pickups ! Is this guitar one of the fabled "lawsuit" guitars? The guitar is all maple with a clear finish, just like the last one pictured above. It is a direct copy of a Gibsn product, complete with "Open book" headstock-th eheadstock shape was one of the main points of contention in this legal argruement. These guitars were produced in great numbers, and MANY different names were put on them..I have seen Aria, Memphis, Penco, Mann, Greco on both set neck and bolt versions of this guitar. The build quality on the Ibanez version is outstanding when matched side by side with the early Gibson model....uncanny really ! Yout guitar may or may not be an "Ibanez", but it could have been built side by side with Ibanez branded guitars with the exact same parts etc-the rest is just marketing ! I love this thing!! I've compared this thing to photos of the Gib***, and from what I can tell it's an EXACT repica. Thanks for clearing this up for me! Kevin
