Looks okay to me!
Are those three-screw-mounted-pick-ups?

Yes I believe so......kind of disappointed that I could not confirm with the seller about a few things...well the price is right...whats the importance of the three screw mounted pickups? I'm assuming non-originality?

I think the only importance of pick ups is that they have to sound right. Especially for a player. As a collector I'd like them to be original too.

It must indeed be one of the few non black 2350L's out there.

Thankx Paul..I gather you have concluded that they are not the original pickups? :-(

What? No way I am saying they are non original. Likely they are, but almost anything is possible. I just can't tell from this pic. I have some 2350's with original super70's in them bearing the 3 point suspension system. They are hung in the usual 2 point pick up rings though.
You just have to wait and see I guess.
And hear them before you judge them! These might be smokin' little screamers, whoever made 'em.

That's one of the things I was slightly ticked off about, the quality of the pics. Had this been another guitar involving big bucks..I would have passed on it for lack of information obviously. This seller had no idea they had a lawsuit Ibanez LP..much less any knowledge of guitars.
This is going to be a restoration project for me..so I've got my fingers crossed on what is orig and what is not.

Was not trying to nail you down to an opinion bro...I just know you have a lot of experiance with these things and even a small hint of hesitation on your part is magnified in my mind...lol

I'll post detailed pic's when I get it and would like your opinion of what is original and what is not.(If you don't mind) I am already missing two control knobs, switch knob and it has a broken tuner.

Hi Anyone,
I'm new to this discussion group. I've had lots of lawsuits in my life and always adored them.
Mostly archtops. But recently aquired a '74-5 Jazzbass copy but I don't recoginze the headstock logo. It's got the letters "I" and "C" superimposed over the top of eachother in abalone. No other markings externally. I don't know how to post pics in this group yet or I would. I could email them to anyone who thought they might know something. Also this jazzbass has SIX bolt neck. Does anyone want to give it a try?

Ok Paul..here are a few pics I'll throw at you while I'm in the process of cleaning and detailing it. NO serial number anywhere. Any clue to the year of manafacture? Neck plate reads MIJ.
The bridge has S.T. Bridge stamped on it.
The pots read(as far as I can tell..R13784**/1-020-80** on two of them...the other two read M-500KUA-243E

Hey Pitviper,

There are a couple of very well informed people over here, who can help you at least as good as I can and probably even better!
If I can I'll help you out though.

I must have turned one around when I reinstalled, thankx didn't notice....they don't look like they have ever been removed...just not sure if they are original pups. No serial numbers anywhere...I posted the pot numbers(they are not even left handed) if that helps..I'm thinking early 70's. Any ideas anyone?...

The pups look familiar. They're very similar to the super70's fitted on the later models (check out the 2674), but it's hard to tell if theese are Ibanez or not. I have seen a similar type also on a Greco late '73 or '74 model.
Are there any markings on the pups at all?

I'd say the guitar is a 1973 model.
Still never seen or heard of any other colour lefty than black for a 2350.
The pups confuse me. The have some of the Ibanez specs like the open coil casings and the wiring. Never seen those in this configuration either.

The solderings of the pups on the pots do look like they are messed with.

Very nice guitar. Is the top arched or carved?

Hi All!

What we have here is a 2350 CS lefty and I've seen it a few times before.
My guess is like Paul's: it's most probably built in 1973/1974.
I have my doubts about the pups too; according to my archives the 2350 CS left had also gold plated humbuckers like the "regular" 2350.
But hey, what are we complaining, at the steal price of 138 dollars?
Kind greetz,
Harry

Paul, the top is arched...and has a chamber inside. This is the loudest electric unplugged I have ever heard, other than a pure hollowbody. I suppose the chamber(s) is/are responsible for that.

Snowjays, the pickups have what appears to be stamped with ST #### something..I'll have to look again to be sure. They do sound fantastic, super crunchy and very high power.
It compairs to my Artist in tone and bite. The gold on the phillips pole screws and the gold in general appears to be of different type than what my Artist has...in the fact that the wear is no where near what I would have expected, so I suspect aftermarket or complete non exposure for a long, long time.

This guitar sat in a closet for over 20+ years I was told... it was played in a church for a few years and then he died in '81. Well like you said Paul..what matters most is if you like them(pickups), and I really do. They really sound better(in some ways) than my super 58's.

I'll get the markings on the bottom of the pups and hopefully someone might be able to assist me in determining originality.

Thanks for the help fellas.

SnowJays or anyone....here's a much better picture of the bottom. Seems to say " SG 57519 " on both pickups. What say you?

I'm not certain, but they do look like greco.
Are the philips head screws on top gold plated or brass?

Gold..I take it these Ibanez LP's were made side-by-side with greco in the early 70's? Or would you suspect the pups were switched?

Actually looking at the screws real close...they might be brass coated and not gold...it's hard to tell since I don't know what the difference would be other than color.

Grecos were made side by side with Ibanez around this time, and the occassional generic parts are in both, probably to reduce costs at the time.
I do have a similar humbucker without the black surround with brass screws that is fitted in my '73 Ibanez LP. But they're not philips head screws.

I believe those are Yamaha pickups from an SG. Compare the spacing between the two screws to the ones on my Yamaha SA2000.

I've noticed that there are no screw holes either by the neck or the bottom side of this 2350 to mount a pickguard...fluke?
