So here's my newest family member. I've been kicking the tires on this one for a few months, but I finally decided to bring her home. Overall, it appears to be in decent shape. Pretty heavy fretwear, and a couple of chips in the clearcoat on the fretboard itself. The body is in great shape with the usual nicks here and there. Here are some pics. If anyone has any information they can give me about this guitar, I'd be greatly appreciative. I'm curious about what type of wood the body is any anything else you might know. The knobs, bridge, and middle pickup are not original. Everything else appears to be original (including the case). Missing tremolo arm.

Hi. The body was made of mahogany with a birch top and back. I like the sound of these guitars. Check http://www.ibanez-vintage-page.de/. |

Thanks for the response Olaf. Any idea on the year of this guitar? No serial number. Seems like all the documentation I can find on the internet points to pre-1975. But the pictures of these 2375's seem to have silver covers over the bridge. After I got her cleaned up and restrung, I spent the better portion of the evening playing her. This has to be one of the most comfortable Strat guitars I've played. In short, I love this guitar! Although I wish it still had the original p/u's and tremolo arm, the aftermarket Duncans are really nice sounding, as is the original neck p/u. The original three-way switch is clunky. I don't think I'm going to alter this guitar from its current config. |

BTW - If anyone is curious, I stole this guitar at a price of 275 US dollars. |

Fellas, I'm thinking I might take this guitar in to get the neck refretted/refinished. From a collectability standpoint, is this going to kill its future value? I mentioned I was going to leave it alone, and I still might, but it sure sounds great. I know its not super collectable, but it is a nice piece of earlier Ibz history. I'm having to regularly use Dr. Stringfellows lem-oil to keep the string friction down which I worry is going to further damage the finish. Maybge I should try some GHS fast fret. |

I picked up a couple of accessories from the Maniacs yesterday. An "ashtray" and an All-parts tremolo bar. The knobs are too stark against the color of the pickguard. It doesn't photograph well, but I'm sure they'll mellow some day. -Brent

If the frets are indeed worn to a point of *unplayability, I'd say that any pro refret job only increases the value of a guitar...with a few exceptions of course. (*yes that is my custom word for it) lol |
