http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPa geName=ADME:B:EOIBSAA:US:31&Item=190103805192 Hello. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Brian Butts AKA Butts. Husband of the lovely Judie (who shares little of my guitar enthuiasim). Father of Tyler and Jessica. I am an operations/maint co ordinator for big ass oil/chemicals. I also play guitar. http://www.myspace.com/desperateambrose I have had a long history with Ibanez guitars....most of which I am not proud of. You see for most of my playing life I have considered the Ibanez "second rate". Forgive me. My first electric was a Mann Les Paul. I still have the guitar (minus a lot of parts) and case). It was a great guitar...but I wanted a Les Paul so badly. (oddly enough I never owned a Les Paul for many years after). I bought an Ibanez Korina V from a friend./.....and promplty traded it for a Black Gibson Marauder. With my first check from my first paying job I bought an IC 100. I kept that for quite awhile....before trading it towards an early 80's strat. I had some kind of ES 175 Jazz box that I bought from a friend....he had the same problem with an Ibanez that I did....he re-laquered the headstock with a Gibson Logo. Always the same thing. An Ibanez was considered second rate. Even today I am still quite the snob. For example. My main guitar and gigging amp. My open stage amp. My bedroom amp. My tele. My beater/playin' around town guitar. Still a bit of a snob. The link at the top of the post is my latest buy. I wanted a quality guitar that I could keep at work/hang in my office/play on break. The strat showed up on eBay Canada...I set auctionsniper and woke up the next moring winning the guitar. It's not here yet but I am already getting anxious. I promise I will hold this in much higher regard. Will play it as often as I can. Will tell anyone who drops by my office and asks what a great guitar an Ibanez is. I will report back with better pictures when it arrives and well even try to restore it to stock condition if I can find parts. I F'in hate Lace Sensor pickups! Thanks for having such a great site! I am very inpressed with this community! Best regards, BB |

Hey mate, welcome to ! You know, it's just recently when it became really obvious and a well known fact, what great guitars were coming from Japan in the 70's and 80's. I wasn't aware of it before I had my first AS200 about a bit more than two years ago. Today, every single one of my guitars (except a spanish classical) is from Japan. You can say I'm a copy snob perhaps tele, strats, J-200, 335, L-5, LP.. and I like playing all of them! |

I forgot to mention the JEMFP I bought in the late eighties......that was my main guitar for several years. I think buying this strat will be a good thing. Best regards, BB AKA Butts AKA Seymour AKA Ciggy AKA sh*tty AKA Smelly AKA Big....you get the idea....I've heard em all.
