I owned a 2451nt in the late 70s & was forced (by EX) to sell it (along with a Music Man 65-210). I never quite got over it & would love to get it (or another one) back. From what I've read here, there are some of you hoardin several of these beauties. Anyone interested in giving one up??? John |

I just missed one of these (in black with rosewood fretboard though) on ebay last week - BIN AUD$300, was gone in 2 hours. I had just logged off 20 minutes before it was listed and they were only 15 minute drive from my house I sent an email asking them to let me know if the buyer didn't come through, no word yet, but they still haven't left each other feedback so there's still hope.... So I guess this is exactly the opposite of what you wanted, but at least you're not suffering alone. |

Dave - Thanks for the reply! e-mail sent Freak - REAL quick!!! Flatbag - I think you're talking about something different. Gibson made an "L6 Deluxe" (no "S") in black w/rosewood, but I don't think Ibanez ever copied it. |

I didn't think so either until I saw the auction and checked the catalogues. The 1974 catalogue show the 2451NT (natural finish/maple board), but in the description states availability in maple or rosewood board, and natural or black finish. The ebay one is the second one I've seen in black, and I've never seen a natural in person - maybe black/rosewood were more prominent in Australia? Oh, and feedback has been left, guitar was picked up. No bargain for me |

Well, I was definitely mistaken about the Gibsons. Been looking around on line & found L6S Customs in the familiar Natural, Black w/rosewood & Tobacco SB w/rosewood. But I still haven't seen a 2451 in anything other than "NT", although I've only been able to find US & German catalog reprints on line. Musta been an OZ thing, as you said, Flatbag. I really want the NT anyway. Dave... ? |

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, don't let it out ! Glad your enjoying the L6s...I think that model is one of the closest clones Ibanez ever produced..it replicates the G version, right down to the white epoxy potted pups... Although it pains me to part with any of my vintage goodies, it is gratifing to hear that the guitar is so appreciated, accolades not withstanding ! |

Harry, The "2451 pity" is indeed just that. This is one example of something that needn't have been screwed with. What in the hell is with with all of those mini-switches? The thing had an amazing variety of tones right off the line & out the door. Re the black 2451BK: Did you find this in "the merry old land of OZ"? ...'cause I've never seen one before (thanx) & have never heard of them, except from Australians, which makes me think that they were only marketed there. My interest is only one of curiosity, as I am a confirmed maple (and a very few other blonde finishes) freak. BTW... Dave... these folks might like to see your "Silverburst" Gibson, just for giggles. |

Jchester Unfortunately I don't own the black 2451BK, because I think it looks really cool! (To my taste: way cooler than the natural one). I found the picture on the web, I think it was some Ebay auction. Can't remember from what country. There was also a picture of the back of the headstock with the serial number: But I have heard before of the black version and I do have more pictures of various examples in my archive. I never saw it listed in any European price list, let alone that it was pictured in any catalogue. So you might be right presuming it was exclusively made for some particular market. Anyone got more info on this? Kind greetz, Harry |

Hi guys Yeah....looks like you're right, Jchester! I sure would love to get one in Europe!! If any Australian member would go out hunting for me "Down Under" for such a 2451BK I would surely apreciate that! Anyone volunteering? Kind greetz, Harry |
