Hi I'm kind of new in the Ibanez vintage comunity. I got hold of a Les Paul Special copy. Dual P-90, Set Neck, wrap around stop tailpiece. I identified it as an Ibanez 2337 DX built in 76. Bought it at a local music shop for 150 Euros in very good condition. I really like the sound of the pick ups though the bridge pickup produces a nasty feedback if played near a loud amp. I didn't find much on the internet about this model. Does anybody know more about it? Is it worth something? Tom |

Hi Tom, I just got one myself a few days ago and it is a MUCH better guitar than I thought it to be. 150€ is definetly a steal if the guitar is not totally beat up. I paid much more for mine...... Harry has got one too. It is one his site. I have not seen it in a catalogue yet. Paul |

Hey speking of P90s, I have a LP Junior with dual dogear style P90s which are very microphonic, and would like to wax pot them. I've had success potting my super 70s, but don't want to wreck the P90s and was wondering if there's anything I should do differently? I'm mostly worried about melting the plastic moulding covers - can and should these be removed? Or would they have a heat threshold around the same as humbuckers plastic bobbins? Cheers Pete |

Thanks for putting that up Snowjays! I don't know what the P90's look inside. Mine work fine! Haven't opened them up yet. Sorry I can't help you with that Flatbag. Paul |

The plastic is not causing the microphonic problems..if it's removable..do so...then just pot the pickups correctly and remount the plastics. |
