2337 DX Les Paul Special

Author Message Tomjoad Username: Tomjoad Registered: 06-2006 Posted on Monday, June 19, 2006 - 3:10 pm:    Hi I'm kind of new in the Ibanez vintage comunity. I got hold of a Les Paul Special copy. Dual P-90, Set Neck, wrap around stop tailpiece. I identified it as an Ibanez 2337 DX built in 76. Bought it at a local music shop for 150 Euros in very good condition. I really like the sound of the pick ups though the bridge pickup produces a nasty feedback if played near a loud amp. I didn't find much on the internet about this model. Does anybody know more about it? Is it worth something? I paid much more for mine...... Harry has got one too. It is one his site. I have not seen it in a catalogue yet. I've had success potting my super 70s, but don't want to wreck the P90s and was wondering if there's anything I should do differently? I'm mostly worried about melting the plastic moulding covers - can and should these be removed? Or would they have a heat threshold around the same as humbuckers plastic bobbins?
