Hi, i've an Ibanez Les Paul, i've had it for 5 or so years, i think it's a 70's model, can anyone narrow it down to a year? Also, what model is it? I keep seen a few photo's of Les Paul Custom type guitars but they all seem to have a mother of pearl inlay below the name on the headstock, which this one doesn't. It has a sticker that's been on it, presumably from new. It says... (it's in German and there's the odd letter missing) Musikhaus J. Langers (i think) Instrumentenbaumeuar (i think) Osnabrook Hasestr. 54 I can't see a serial number, are they hidden? Or could it be it doesn't have one?!
 http://www.dotstarweb.com/chris/ibanez/lp1.jpg

http://www.dotstarweb.com/chris/ibanez/lp2.jpg Baring in mind this guitars older than me, any information will be greatly appreciated! |

I'd say 1971-1972 model 2350. Paul |

Agree with Paul's dating. They had no serial nos until '75. And the blank truss rod cover (and lack of headstock inlay) make it pre-73, so it's 71-72 - in other words about as early as it can get. :] Fish |

The blank TRC's were used until about 1976. Be it only on standard models. The rounded fretboard end and the missing fretmarkers above fret seventeen are the real giveaways IMNSHO. Looks to be all original by the way. Paul |

Pual, surely the TRC had the CUSTOM text on it from 73 and on - at least on the 2350? You're right of course on the rounded fretboard - forgot that one. :] Fish |

Fish, You are correct on the "custom" text on 2350 TRC's. The font of the text and the shape of the TRC changes a few times over 1973-1976. The one in the ebay link looks like a real beauty but what a Satanic BIN! |

Clapton, that's a nice axe - but expensive!!! Wow. Yes, that is MOST likely a 71 or 72 as well. For all the same reasons as Chrisma's. :] Fish |
