Hi guys. I showed some pics of my early destroyer a few months ago, and I would love some opinion on the followings links. I'm looking to see if all is genuine with regards to the internal wiring.

The links on the old post are still work and feedback seems externally the truss rod cover and the knobs seem different to serial number korina destroyers.

On this post, i'm looking to see what people think of the inside. I've been told there should be a number on the fretboard, but there is nothing.

I'm really glad to see you posting again regarding your Destroyer. She is a beauty! Looking at these new shots it does appear that the wiring is not original, but it is not surprising that at one point in that guitars life it need new pots. The pickups and bridge are definitely original. I'm not sure what was going on at the neck joint under the pickup. Looks like a little extra routing happened in there, but that still could have been done at the factory.

How does this guitar sound! I've seen several pre-serial number Destroyers in the last year: One was as beautiful as yours and the other was so thoroughly banged up that it looked like someone had dumped acid all over it. "mrbluesman" at this site has a nice one like yours, so you should hook up with him to compare details. I am very interested in these guitars (I have three:a 76, 77 and a 78) so I really enjoy seeing these shots of your guitar.

THREE?

No wonder it took me ages to find one...

Just jealous. Power to you, Strat.

Jim-Strat78 is one of the best experts on Destroyers that I know...he REALLY knows his stuff and should write a book!! In any case, I do have one that is 100% original except for the knobs...mine has black speed knobs instead of the gold reflector knobs. And it was with Strat78's help that I became aware of that AND found the correct replacements!! I haven't yet looked at your pics to give you my opinion, but if Strat78 doesn't think the wiring/pots are original, I'd bet MY Destroyer he is correct!!

Here are some shots of my 77. Note the clear plastic sheathing over the braided wires. My 76 and 78 were the same. Compare the inside pickup cavity and neck joint area. Hey Fuzz, it makes no difference whether yours was re-wired (if indeed that was the case) it does not change it's value because you still have the original pickups and everything ells! Mrbluesman, what does cavity wiring look like in yours? my image

Guys - really appreciate the help here. She is finally having a decent set up at Andys in Denmark Street - frets were lifting a bit. Back in 10 days. Also I'm pretty sure she has been wired wrongly as the tone control seems to cut volume as well. I don't feel I've heard the best from her yet due to the set up, but I'm impressed with these pickups - they aren't mushy at all. I'm going to get some new pots put in her as well. I'm not sure what is going on with the neck tenon. Why would anyone shave a bit off?

Strat78 & Jim, I'll try to post some pics of my wiring for you later tonight or by tomorrow at the latest. The day I got it, I did take it apart once I got home and the wiring, pots, toggle...everything looked original, untouched and as clean as the day it was put together! Jim, in case I forgot to mention, mine is also a '75/pre-serial number (#72 stamped on the fretboard at the last fret)
