My grandpa gave me his 2350 because he said his fingers were getting too big to play it. Anyway, I love it and am very seriously considering reconditioning it (all gold very discolored). Anyone have a guess on year? Is the serial # behind the neck? Any information is greatly appreciated! Judging by the earlier type tuner covers I'd say it is an 1973 or 1974 model. Finding original parts will be tough, finding original parts in good/execellent condition even tougher but they are out there. Leave it as is and play it hard to make grandpa even prouder of you. The differ on lots of fronts. As you might know I really like the Ibanez models but most of them are build way inferior to the originals. I do believe they make a great guitar for the money though and I gig some of my Ibanez just as often as my Gibsons. Welcome at ICW, I was quite focussed on the subject and Paul's answer and thought I had nothing to add. I have several Les Paul models, but no Ibanez (yet). I think it's quite special to have a new lady member on the board. Perhaps a new Bonnie Rait, or Jennifer Batten... JohnS, how many Bonnies and Jennies have we got on the board? I only remember one or so. Oh, Laura, your guitar has the original simple covered tuners. For the value of the guitar it's important to keep it that way. So treat them with care. A little sewing machine oil on the gear and the worm wheel now and then, and never force them, when they're stuck, but oil and loosen the strings a bit before you continue. Closed tuners, like Schallers, Gotohs and Grovers keep their oil inside and are technically better, but you would have to drill new holes in the headstock. This would devaluate this "lawsuit" guitar. So if something goes seriously wrong with the tuners, don't hesitate to place an ad for an original tuner in the Free Classifieds of ICW. That's what I would do, if something happened with the tuners of my 2355M jazz guitar, although I know that there are better tuners. They're about the same (it's a 1976 model). The closed star tuners are better, but you find them only on the more expensive models (like the Artist 2616). My fellow members shortened it to Ginger, just like "Freak", "Rat", "Fingers". Actually there was a "Ginger", who posted once, years ago and then disappeared in a black hole or something... Jeff!! Do you have someone overthere of the opposite sexe? BTW: I just saw that Warner had all Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers fragments on Youtube removed. Pity: it would be nice if our youngsters would have a role model of a good dancer who doesn't grab his crotch all the time. On the box says 1DC41, button 01M, Finish crome, Mission 1:14. I used on my 2355 and screws and everything could be kept, no new wholes anywhere.
