Hi,

I have the chance of a buying an early 70s (probably '72 or '73) Ibanez paula copy (some pics below), but I was wondering how much it is really worth so I don't pay too much. I'm also wondering if all parts on this one are original because the seller doesn't seem to know exactly.

Also, which year and series would this one be?

Cheers,
Alex.

Hi Alex,

This is an early (my guess: 1970/71) model 2350. Seems to be all original. Several appointments tells us so. The rounded fretboard ends, the fretmarkers and the pickguardbracket for example. Not a very high quality instrument but a nice vintage Ibanez.

Hi

Paul, I think you overlooked the non-original knobs.
But as for the rest: I agree. Itīs a very early one, probably 1971, because of the "bolt-through" tailpiece (instead of the later "hooked in" one).
Value of this guitar will be around $350 - $400 dollars.

Kind greetz,
Harry

So true Harry.

Since the pics are taken from 2dehands.be I guess the guitar is in Belgium which would make it 225-300€.

I got it today, and spend more than 2 hours cleaning this lady. She's restringed now and plays pretty smooth en sounds great (pups are definatly not original but they sounds great and pretty brutal, also, I'm not having abnormal loads of feedback, not even at ear shattering volumes.). The only thing I need to get done is to get the nut replaced as it is pretty worn out and I'm having too much fret buzz on the first 3 frets.

Here some pics of how she looks all cleaned up:

Too bad theres a large piece of the binding on the headstock torn off, but its a nice guitar none the less and its going to be used a lot for sure.
