This is being offered by a fellow collector. I have never seen this model before nor can I find it in the old cats. Looks like they might have been using up old L6S parts (varitone, Bill Laurence PUPs etc) . I don't understand tha placement of the pickup selector (very un-ibanez like)...could it be a frankenstein git with a Ibanez neck ?

Hi Dave No, itīs a genuine Ibanez! Itīs the model number 2458 and as far as I know these were only listed in the 1975 catalogue. So these are very rare. In my 6 years of collecting the replica models Iīve only seen this model once on Ebay some years ago. Striking: at this moment there are two on Ebay: this one and the one on German Ebay that I try to hunt down tomorrow (so wish me luck). The one that is shown above is not complete, since itīs missing the pickguard (which is an oddball for itself). Below is a picture from the "German" one, which is fully original and sort of "must have" for me. Kind greetz, Harry |

Yeah guys, youīre right. That guard surely wouldnīt win the first price in the World Beauty Contest of Pickguards, but you know how thelunatic-collector prefers to get them: as original as possible! Bids are still low.....maybe tomorrow is my lucky day or will hell break loose in the last 3 minutes??? Itīs always exciting when youīre after an item youīd really love to win!!! Kind greetz and thanx 4 the support! Harry |
