Hey fellas..

I have a question...can anyone here tell me why they think this bolt-on should be worth this much money?

What am I missing..is the condition that good?...is the model/color that rare?...perhaps just a fluke?....or is this just an indication of things to come. I would love to hear your thoughts...imho, this is set neck price range to me.

I've seen that one too and was shocked. Not sure what's going on with that price. I didn't note anything rare or crazy about the guitar, maybe there are just no other sunburst customs for sale right now and perhaps at least two folks are fighting for one... keep in mind, it only takes two determined bidders to really make an auction whacky! His BIN on his 59er seemed a little high (but he's right about the top being fantastic... still not sure that warrants the price on it, but you'll note it is still for sale as well. His CW J77 LP however is reasonable (I'm watching it thinking my strange hybrid J77 CW LP freak may need a "normal" twin from a little further down the production line). Regarding the guitar in question here, this does seem more like set neck price territory but it clearly is not a set neck guitar. I paid 200 less than this for my last set neck I picked up three or four months ago on ebay! This one has me confused/surprised as well. I look forward to hearing other comments as this is a little unusual. I think the same seller has the medallion version of the V listed as well... red and bolt neck if I'm not mistaken. Guy (or shop) has a cool old Ibanez stash, that's for sure!

I can tell you that I originally bid on this guitar to add to my collection, and because of the headstock (I don't see many of the "lawsuit" type ~ open book style). When I got out bid I decided to pass on it.

First of all: it is a nice one.

There's 3 bidders above the 600 line. That is unusual. Prices of these things keep rising but even with that in mind it is a LOT of $$. I've been lucky to sell one for even more about a year or so ago so it does happen every now and then. Last one I sold was 550 $ in equal condition as the one on eBay.

This is definetly set neck territory. I bought two setnecks last week (one with issues) for le$$.

Slpraeg, it was wise to pass, because $770.- is absolute madness. Impatience costs a lot of money. Like Paul says: This is set neck territory.
