Hi all
Anyone have any playing knowledge of this model?
As far as I can gather it's a 335 style c/w lyre trem and a pair of Super 70 pups. The unique feature on this model is a six way rotary "tone" switch. I'd be interested to hear comments from anyone who has played one.

Cheers
Russ

Russ,

I have the Lawsuit version but with the tremolo removed. The Vari-tone is pretty much like that on a Gibson ES345, ES335, or Lucille. The Vari-tone allows you to vary to a preset tone with the movement of the selector switch. Most players prefer to disconnect the Vari-tone because it draws/reduces a lot of the output from the pickups.

Russ:

Take a look at his site:

Look through Harry Kruisselbrink's collection. He has 2 guitars with the vari-tone switch.

This one is up in the UK.

The seller is dreaming in this price range and check out that corrosion where the cellulose pick guard is falling apart.

I owned and played one for a couple years back in the late 80's - used it as my "church axe" doing Convalescent Home gigs... sitting down though. One thing I did not like about it, it seemed off balance - very neck heavy. Good sounding guitar though.

Unfortunately THIS example in the ad is really a mess. You're right Sixvsix, the guy IS dreaming (or I want some of what he's smoking...).

Old thread but good enough for this:

Ebay Item #250181112519

My old 2457 had the trem removed and a stop tail put on. It sounded terrific and it looked great too but unfortunately the neck was way too thin for me so off it went.

I believe these are the same construction as the 2629 and AS100
