Described as an Artist from the '80's but with a lyre style trem that is said to be original.
Can anyone help ID the model?
Pity about the coil tap switches !!

On later Artist series guitars in the 80´s, vibrato tailpieces were also used as a complement to the Gibraltar tailpiece.
It was the same type of vibrato unit (HardRocker) that were used on some Roadstar models, such as the RS 1010.

As far as model id, it looks like an AR-100 to me.

Russell,

I think that may be an AR150. Generally a 5 on the end is a quilt top, and a 50 had a trem. The pattern is not perfect, but for the most part the Artist series model numbers follow this pattern.
(Example; AM200, AM205, AM255)

Jorgen's right about the trem being a HardRocker. So that makes it an '83-'85 model.

It's been relisted;

Hmm.

I started to wonder. In the picture, the body horns are bigger than in older AR's. AM300 and AM400 also had bigger horns than '83 AM2**, and those higher numbered AM's came in '88.

Could this make the AR150 above a later model, maybe even '88?

The body and horns look like standard AR stuff to me. The Hardrocker trem wasn't used after 1985. I'm still betting on AR150...

Then it must be just the angle the guitar was pictured in. I would prefer the horns a bit bigger, so maybe I saw what I am dreaming of.. ;o)

Hello Ibaneezers, I just bought the guitar pictured on ebay, I'll be putting the controls back to their original layout, only with push pots for series/parallel options, and maybe later on going for a deep amber finish to show the flame maple a bit better. I'll post some scans when I get it. I know I paid a fair bit for it at £350 but I got fed up waiting for a real bargain, and it'll be onstage earning it's keep from the word go!
iggy... ;o)
