Hi everyone! I'm new to this board. I have a question about a guitar i recently picked up. The salesman didn't know what brand it was (he claimed the neck was changed, and the present one has no logo on it), but it looked and played great, so i got it. It was very cheap, $150, and it also came together with a small 15W fender amp and a hardcase. My guitar tech later told me that this is an Ibanez 2350 (black beauty) due to the distinctive signs on the body. I also checked that at the Ibanez catalog site, and it looks exactly the same. It now also seems that it's not 5-10 years old as the person who sold it claimed to be, but fairly older - but that makes it even a greater find to me as a young player, because it's in very good condition.
Now for my question:
I am not really shure if the electronics are still original? And what is with the neckplate, is my guitar from the pre-serial era? (I saw you mentioning that in some threads). The guitar sounds great, and I'd love to believe that these are the famous Super 70's.

-http://freeweb.siol.net/dpotoc2/geetre/pickup_back.jpg - it's scanned... :\ the smudgy numbers are 14626 (but that '2 might also be something else, because it's cleared out, a dot maybe). they're different on the other pickup. i've found no other signs on the two (heavily corroded) pickups.
By the way, on the 3-way switch, there's 'Mt Italy' or something like that stamped on the upper golden part.
What's your opinion about this guitar? Do you think the electronics are original, ever saw pickups like that? Any way of knowing the year my guitar was made?

Hi David,
Nice to hear from you and welcome.
We really need a better pic of your pick ups to get a true I.D but I would guess you have a Super 70 there. I think the numbers were batch codes but I cant be sure although I have a few like yours in my possesion with just the numbers on.
Neck plate also looks typical Ibanez but don't worry about the lack of serial number.
Try and post some pictures of your guitar.
