Please help identify this LP copy

Author Message Drd430 (Drd430) Posted on Thursday, January 22, 2004 - 3:58 pm:    Hi Everyone: I have an Ibanez Les Paul Custom copy that I bought back in the mid-70's. It has a bolt-on neck, flamed sunburst finish, 3-piece mahogany neck (I think), chrome hardware, "Made in Japan" on neckplate (no serial number) and book-style headstock. I have attached some photos. Can someone advise the model and year of this guitar? The word custom is in lower case so to speak.To be unrealist, the only other difference is that the 3 way toggle switch cap should be a white one from the factory and not black.....but hey, Friday night the bar's open , my shout and blah,blah,blah. I recently had to get the switch replaced because it wasn't working in the rhythm position - and the shop installed the black switch :-(. Other than that, the guitar is exactly the way I bought it. I somehow lost the receipt over the years, but to the best of my memory I think I bought it in 1975, so it makes sense that it could be a 1974 model. BTW, I think I paid $225 Canadian for it back then (probably around $240 US at the time.) Interesting that the neck is laminated maple, with a mahogany stain I guess - it matches so well with the body I thought the neck was mahogany as well. I did check the 1974 catalogue scans on www.Ibanez-Vintage-page.de and thought it matched the 2351M pictured, except in the scanned photo it appears the bridge pickup screws are black and I couldn't tell if there was any binding around the headstock. What would it be worth today (not that I'd ever sell it! This was my first guitar, and was chosen because I was heavily into Jimmy Page in those days, and I saw him playing a sunburst Gibson LP in many photos - so it has a lot of sentimental value to me) Thanks for your input!
