I just purchased a "half vine". It's black with gold hardware and a bolt on neck. My question is about the inlay..It's all mother of pearl except the middle of the vine ?stem?..which is white. Is this correct or has it just been incorrectly repaired?

Brian,

The guitar I purchased is like yours. The stem is a white plastic or ivroid material, so I think it's safe to assume that it is correct and not a repair. I hope you are enjoying your guitar.

Thanks for the info! I thought I was going to be left guessing. I do have to say that this is one of the best guitars I have ever owned. The only problem is that some of the original parts (pick guard,knobs,tuners etc) have been replaced or are M.I.A. The gold is quite faded and even pitted in some place. I just restored an '80 artist and was very fortunate that Ibanez still sells many of the parts so maybe I'll luck out on this one as well. Let me know if anyone has a source for parts!
