I have a "super 70's" L5 style Ibanez archtop, can anyone give me any advice on finding its year/value and where it was built?model : 2460. serial : 4143. blond, two pick ups, rosewood fingerboard, ply top. My guess is that it is from the post lawsuit period when the standards were downgraded as my friends sunburst version has an ebony fingerboard and solid top. |

Davey: Is there a serial number on the back of the headstock? Here's a catalog shot: Looks like the 2460 and 2470 were close enough in looks that they only showed one. http://www.noahjames.com/vintagepage/2001picts/76-2470.jpg |

Hi John, Thanks for your message, Sorry it took me a while to get back! That catalog pic you posted is exactly the same as mine except mine has aged. No, there's nothing on the back of the headstock except a small silver on black sticker that says "Super 70's" serial no. is on the lable inside the body and is 4143, its a funny looking lable and model is spelt "modelo" the lable itself is not square or diamond shaped but 5 sided! should the serial be on the headstock? is there any way to look the serial up 4143? |
