Yeah, autions are becoming quite baffling. There's a certain '90s Ibanez on Ebay that's exactly like one I bought last year. The starting bid is twice what I won mine for, and the BIN price is 3 times what I paid. Maybe we're all rich, even if it's not Lawsuit of vintage. Anyone want to give me 3 grand for my RocketRollSr. flying V ? Oops, the pickups aren't original....OK, $2800. ROFL ! |

Maybe it's in Canadian dollars? Can't argue with NOS from '77 though. Maybe Hoshino wants it back for their museum? |

Its nice to know that the seller took the time to bring this mint guitar outside into the cold Canadian atmaosphere and set it up in the snow by his garage to give it the optimum lighting in the pics. |

This is exactly what you want as a seller: Two guys that really want the guitar regardless of the price. For that kind of money, you could almost buy a real Les Paul... |

I thought the RS1000 going over $1000 was insane like month or so ago but this one is nuts... and the pice can be brought up more since top guy has bid 3 times, he must want this bad! |

I have been watching the auction too because I have the same guitar, but mine's a true lawsuit with the correct headstock with lots of real abalone inlay, and Maxon pickups. Mine has the Ventura label. It has the same star tuners, sandwich construction, maple neck, black inlays, bookmatched striped top. I think it's worth more like $500, not over a grand! The guy is going to pay the money. He paid over a grand for a Ibanez Custom Agent, if you check his purchase history. And it actually might be worth it as the neck has a feel unlike anything I've ever experienced. It's like it's made of metal, as it is so straight, and feels so solid. Scott |

I agree with Johns...can't argue with NOS from '77. I see this as Supply and Demand 101...just aren't a whole lot of NOS MINT ones out there...bound to drive up prices eventually. |

I just paid $600 for a NOS 1960 Crosman airgun that cost $29 back then. $29 that a ten year old did not have back then. I know, I'm crazy. But then, I know someone who just paid over $100,000 for a $4,500 '66 Shelby Mustang. Hmmm, 2000% seems to be the norm. LOL. Ace |

Guys, Don't be surprised by stuff like this. Word is out that Japan won't be building guitars any more. The end of an era marks the beginning of a new collectable. Who'da thought '50 Stratocasters would be pulling 5 figures? Who'd thought a Hemi 'Cuda convertible would bring 7 figures? Steve |

I still think that $1200 is an absurd price, especially given that its not quite NOS....(Note the wear on the bridge and stoppc where you rest your hand when playing-the gold is worn off the edges. |
