I just bought an Ibanez Blazer, in pieces, and cant figure out from the serial number whether its an a 1981 or a 1988. The Neck plate reads "IBANEZ H813128 MADE IN JAPAN" andf the Headstock reads "IBANEZ BLAZER SERIES CUSTOM MADE". Its got three single coils, one tone, one volume and a coil tap. any help would be greatly appreciated and if any knows where I can get a wiring diagram, that would save me a ot of time too. cheers Paul |

Looks like you got yourself a 1981 BL400BS. Interesting that its routed for both single and humbucker pickups. Checkout this link for a catalog scan. http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1981/p10.jp g |

Thanks BlazerPlayer You must really know your stuff, I cant thank you enough cos I did some mooching for identification but got nowhere. And its a phase reversal switch not a coil tap. In the bag that came with are three single coils PUPs, but it is routed for HBuckers, looks like orginal too. thanks again mate, now i know what I've got! Paul |

Could you post some better pics of the routes for the pickups? Thanks BP |

Heres some pics of the routing. The humbucker routing do look original to me with the stain streaks down the side walls, unless the top has been restained, but the pickup switch recess defiently looks like its erm...post-factory work. I could of course be very wrong, and would definetly be interested to know what you guys think. hanx Paul |
