Hello All,
I'm a very new member due to the recent purchase of my first Ibanez, a 1985 Roadstar with broken parts on the Pro Rock'r bridge.

Obviously, finding parts for a Pro Rock'r is extremely difficult.

Is there any interest in having after market parts built?

Specifically, I'm considering getting a quote on having a bunch of saddle stops made.

Are there any other parts that are problematic you would like to see quoted?

Please let me know,
Steve

Steve -

I have no idea what it would cost to have the parts custom built, but you may want to check this out first:

Welcome Steve,

You are right. Finding parts for a Pro Rock'r is extremely difficult, because everybody who has a Pro Rock'r with one broken saddle keeps looking out for saddles or another broken bridge (owned by another guy who thinks just the same: my Ibanez is worth more when the bridge is original). So we have seen some very high prices for this problem bridge. I have two Pro Rock'r arms with extra bushings, but one is in the Edge of my Hillman Longhorn (Jan Wessing would order a new black Edge arm for me, but I haven't been in Den Bosch for quite a while [years]). Anyway, I'm not selling either, because if I find a nice incomplete vintage Ibanez with a Pro Rock'r, the arms are already there. But then it has to be a really nice one, because there are lots of Roadstars that go for less then the sum of their parts. Mr Roadstar sold all of his Roadstars, and I found it sad to see for how little money they went. It was sad anyway to see our Roadstar specialist ending up with zero Roadstars. Fixing up an Artist with some original parts is something that pays back, but I don't see that on most Roadstars. Lots of investments, and what comes back when you sell? So I can only advise you to be very patient and maybe buy a second incomplete Roadstar for the parts that you are missing. Sometimes they cost the same as a complete trem.
But then you end up with another piece of project wood, and it starts all over again.

Only ICW Hall of Fame members are told the secret place where all lost trem arms are

Other ICW members have to place ad in "Free Classifieds" section or try their luck on eBay and other web market places.

Juha:

That's pretty funny! :-)

Truth is they are in the same secret place as all the lost ball point pens, paper clips and rubber bands.

Pete and Ginger,
Just wanted to say thanks for your replies. You are probably both right, it's just not worth the effort and investment to make after market parts for the Pro Rock'r bridge.

It would probably be very difficult to recoup the investment in this endeavor. I'll still talk to my friend who has a small manufacturing company just to see how much custom machining will cost.

In the meantime, I'll keep looking for pro rock'r guitars and bridges.

Thanks,
Steve
