AHHHHHHHHH. Finally. Found a mint condition S 540 LTD, sharktooty inlays, and "custom made" inlay on the neck. Got a decent deal on it too. Anyways, regarding the Dimarzio pickups on it, how are these? I have EMG's, and Seymour Duncans in my other guitars, and was wondering how well these QM's represent DIMARZIO. I was thinking about throwing in some Dimarzio's, but I read on Harmony Central that these QM series pickups are pretty good. Anybody, have Dimarzio Pickups AND these QM pickups? How do they compare? Thanks. |

you can't compare the whole DiMarzio production to one pickup. anyway, as far as i know, the QM are good pickups but they lack the bite. a friend of mine got them on his mahogany RG620BM (see here: http://www.ibanez87.it/english/other-ibanezs/rg620bm-mauro.aspx), we tried it on many amps but they really didnt come out of the mix, they're a bit flat and plain. great cleans though. eventually we replaced'em with a Tone Zone and a PAF Pro, and wow! you can hear the difference, they've got way more "cream" down there on mid-bass freqs and sound more tasty, they definitely bite. nuno www.ibanez87.it |

I've been looking for a QM2 to return my S1520 to stock condition. I'm curious to see how it sounds as well. As for DiMarzio, I really like the pickups I've tried, including the PAF Pro and PAF Classic. I also like the Ibanez V2 which is based on the DiMarzio Distortion. I don't care for the Fred, but maybe that's just me - too many overtones. -Sven |

The QM is not Dimarzio. I've once written an email to Dimarzio asking about this, they said that they did not involve with the QM. |
