Hi everyone...emailing from sunny England...I'm hoping someone may have a few answers...to my questions.. HOw many people have: RS1000/RS1300/1400/1500 on this site? Does anyone on here own or collect these guitars? Does anyone know how many were made? How rare are they...? Did they come in any other colours than Cherry Sunburst and Marine Sunburst....? Anyone got one for sale...? Many thanks |

Johns, I believe there are also a few cherry sunburst and marine sunburst 1300s floating around. Lukather, search this site by keyword;specifically the Roadstar Q&A topics; and you'll find a bunch of information regaurding the models you've asked about. In fact, I know Mr. Roadstar posted build numbers in one of the threads. BTW, the 1400 was only available in Silver Smoke, and the 1500 in Brown Sunburst, js |

I own an RS1500, the single coils and electronics make for every single coil tone under the sun. VERY noisy though, when gain is added. I am considering the Suhr backplate silencer. It acts like a dummy coil and is supposed to dramatically reduce 60 cycle hum. |

Jeff: I see that the '84 RS1300 came in CSB, but can't find any docs that say it came in MSB. Would be neat to own one, though. Don't you own any of the above models? |

http://www.mr-ibanez.com/id23.htmon there is a photo of a late 1983 rs1300bk/b which is black with black hardware. this should start some discussion as there are some that say that the rs1300 was not available in 1983. |

And here's a link to a discussion in which Mr Roadstar (aka "The Bear") posted the production numbers for the RS1300. You'll also find a photo of Meranti's RS1300CS... http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/discus/messages/57 51/5812.html#POST30090 Lukather, This site has a very nice keyword search function that will enable you to discover all the information you need. You just have to dig a bit. js |

Jeff: Thanks for doing the homework on this thread and tracking down that RS1300MS picture. (Looks like you are taking over Mr_Roadstar's duties, until hibernation is over. ) Now, I've got to find one. But I do like the RS1010SL, 2nd version's ebony board and snowflake inlays. Can you hear a difference between the 1010's Special Super 58s and the 1300's "regular" Super 58s? |

Lukather: Where are you going to get a (near) top-of-the-line Ibanez guitar for $300.00? Grab it! Here's exactly how to post pictures: http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/FAQMain.html |

Just to add some confusion: There is a Roadstar model RS1100 that was exclusively available in Germany. It's basically a RS1000 but with a black finish and black hardware. According to a review in a German magazine the specs furthermore include a Hard Rocker Pro Trem, a special designed Super58 Bridge Pickup with higher output and a resistance of approx. 14,50 KOhm (similar to a RS1010SL), Push/Push pots and a Fingerboard with 22 Frets. Orval, the guitar on your site that you're referring to as being a RS1300 has only 2 control knobs and the Output Jack is located on the top. Could it be that it's actually a RS1100? Juergen |

juergen, my rs1300 was a late 83 model. there is an rs1300bk/bk listed in the mid 83 price sheet but there was no rs1100 listed at all. thats why i classified it as a very early rs1300. without stripping the black paint off we will never know. orval |
