Here's a pair with a few hours/days left. The TR appears to be missing the locking nut and has had the pups replaced, and the NT is a bit on the pricey side, but it looks super clean. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7341308058 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7341499255 js |

Mr_Roadstar: Did you think it would never happen? Check the old messages, I asked for opinions on an RS1300NT back in 10/04. And the RS1010SL has always fascinated me. Even though it's red, this NOS was just too good to pass up. I have no experience with this Pro Rocker trem, so I'll probably be asking for help with it. |

I forgot about the Artfield! Well let me know how you like the duo sound! And if you are coming to the philly show on the 20th bring it and I'll bring my AS103 and let you try it out! |

"Did you think it would never happen? Check the old messages, I asked for opinions on an RS1300NT back in 10/04" Heck no, I was just givin' ya a hard time! I remember you making inquiries about that model in the past. I have never owned a ProRock'r equipped model so I'm not gonna be much help. Congrats on adding another fine guitar to your stable. Steve, I've got a wraparound on my RS335 - making it a hardtail obviously. But, my action is a little high and though the saddles have yet to be grooved (new bridge) do you, or anyone else reading this, have any ideas how I might lower the action? Should I be loooking into shimming the neck? I'm going to take some pics tomorrow when I have some sunlight to work with. |

"I've got a wraparound on my RS335 - making it a hardtail obviously" A hardtail RS335? Modified, yes? If the bridge is as low as it'll go, then a neck shim is the next adjustment. Steve |

Hey guys, what kind of sound should I expect out of this guitar? I've never had a maple capped basswood bodied guitar. |

Ah man, they suck! Sound like crap... Same pickups as your solid body Artist. Longer scale, basswood vs mahogany so it'll be brighter in general. Perhaps a bit more "twang". BTW, you are a DAWG !! An NOS RS1300TR w/case, sheesh !!! Steve |

Steve: And it has the original whammy bar, too. Whoof, whoof! Yes, this combination of features and construction materials should be interesting. |

Johns, that really is a beautiful guitar. Never been touched to boot eh? Amazing. The extra detailing on the binding adds a really nice touch too. Steve, yes, it was modified by it's previous owner(s). I got it shipped from MoreMusic in Santa Cruz California to Halifax Nova Scotia. From the pics on the website I thought it had the stock bridge. It turned out to be a Leo Quan Badass w/ fine tuners extension. I made a thread not too long ago about my bridge woes - it was seized and rocked way forward. I've got another Badass mounted on it now, without the tuners. A shim won't be necessary as I broke down and bought a NOS Hardrocker from Dave here at ICW. He was nice enough to offer me a good price. It'll look better, probably sound better too with the correct bridge - I'm hoping the added springs will add some more sustain, or just a little chime to the sound. Either way it'll be back to stock and how Ibanez designed the guitar. It's sunny so I'm going to go take some pics! |

I shouldn't say it was modified - the Badass and Hardrocker use the same distance between mounting studs. It was just a matter of swapping the bushings. |

Stankfloyd: I really hadn't noticed the binding, til you mentioned it. The glitter of the gold had me blinded. Here's some more pictures of it:

Here's some more pictures of my new RS1300, it really is in mint condition: My thoughts, so far: definitely high quality guitar. The body is larger (square inch-wise) than I thought, but it's not that heavy. I guess that's a result of the Basswood body. The unbound, Rosewood neck is very comfortable, even for this old Artist lover. The bolt-on neck joint will certainly not bother a Strat-player, but I also haven't noticed it getting in my way or being uncomfortable, at all. The Duo Sound Super 58s take some getting used to. At lower volumes, it can be hard to tell what mode you are in (single or humbucking) and with no visual clue from the knob, you just have to guess. With the volumes turned up, you get a distinct growl in humbucker mode that makes it much easier to tell what mode you are in. In single coil mode, you get get some good clean tones, but I'd never mistake it for the glassy sounds you can get from a Strat. I did have to play with my amp settings to keep the sound from being too high-end and brittle. I've gotten some very useable sounds out of the bridge pickup, in both modes. The neck pup has lots of "rauchy" sounds when pushed. The ProRockr trem is actually pretty stable for a non-Floyd Rose double locking system. But I'm also not a dive-bomber, either. The guitar has a lot of acoustic sound, so I certainly wouldn't say that the trem is a tone-sucker. The only negative thing I can say is that the fine tuners take more torque to twist, compared to the Edge models. This means I have to be careful not to inadvertently move the trem while tuning. It feels like the screw is binding. Maybe it's the metal used or a coarser pitch of the threads, but the fine tuners on the Edge move effortlessly, in comparison. I wonder if throwing some lubricant on them would help? Certainly not a major problem, just someting to get used to. It's a pretty beefy piece of hardware, so it isn't as sensitive as the Edge. But that's a good thing for players who are used to resting their hand on the bridge while they play. You can see exactly where this 21-year old model fits into the evolution of Ibanez guitars. It's the Artist features meeting a beefed-up Roadstar body with most of the innovations that Ibanez had to offer, at the time. There's nothing to make apologies for, what-so-ever. If you grew up on RG or S guitars, you might dismiss this guitar because it's too "old school". But if you are coming from the opposite direction of the timeline (as I am), you might be more inclined to think that this guitar bridges the "vintage" and "contemporary" camps very nicely. |

John, That's a nice reivew. It's good to see 'articles' of this type on ICW. I might suggest giving the lubrication a try. I've done this on one of my Edges and it did help smooth out the 'feel' of the fine tuners. I think I used some Triflow synthetic grease. May not be the best choice, but it was all I had. Works well on my bike |
