With the acquiring my third Artfield it was time to start working on that Artfield website I have been planning for so long. The first version is online now. It only needs lots of content but that will be added the next couple of days. Let me know what you think and more important, if you have any info, pics, catalog scans or other suitable stuff, do send me an email. http://www.ibanezartfield.com/ John M |

Wow! John that site looks nice... but I have to be honest. I've never seen an Artfield guitar.. they look flippin sweet! Just from the pictures, the quality and style looks that of the Paul Reed Smith. Thanks... now I need to add another guitar to my hitlist. 8-) |

John: You're doing a great job. These guitars are absolutely one of my favorites. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I think Hoshino should reissue these babies. Hopefully, your shining a spotlight on them will help spark some interest at HQ. |

Brentm: Not sure where you are in the world, but John (JohnM) and Patric (Artfield) are some of the only owners of these special "experiments" and they are from the Netherlands. As far as I know, only one other forum member has one, he got it from Hong Kong. These guitars were considered too risky to import into the US. I don't know about the UK and Aussie land. Maybe the Cappy can tell us about that? They were a test to see if a high end guitar would be accepted by the masses. That's why they didn't carry the Ibanez name prominently. If the experiment failed then no damage was done to the brand name. Seems silly to me. There's been lots of disasterous selling models in the Ibanez lineup over the years. Anyway, the problem was never the guitars, these guitars were ahead of their time. |

Hi JohnS and BrentM, I have updated the links section on the site with links to owners sites. It seems that the AFD 40 is the most widely available. Hopefully we can get a better picture once the table of serial numbers is growing. |

Hi Petruz, That site is owned and operated by Marcus, a German guy who owns 2 artfields. His collection is impressive. |

I did a small update on the Artfield website. I added pictures of Heartfielder's AFD-5 and I added a couple of serial numbers to the list in an attempt to find out how many Artfields were made. http://www.ibanezartfield.com/ |
