Hi all, today, I bought 83 RS1010SL(early verson)for a great price. Guitar still looks, plays and sounds fantastic. The only thing I'm a bit worried about is the bridge since there is a fair amount of corrosion (pits etc)on it. I guess it's a ProRock'R Trem but I'm not sure, the only thing I'm sure of is that it's the original. (I bought this guitar from a long time friend and I know he never replaced it) As far as I can tell the corrosion does not affect the sound, nor does it affect tuning. (I've played it for 2 hours and it's still in tune), but I'm worried that it will have an effect later in time. Is there a possibility to repair the tremelo? Or should i look for another ProRock'R trem or replace the trem with a newer type? Any suggestions? Cheers Flip Belgium, Europe |

Flip a 83 should have a HardRock'r trem, not ProRock'r. The ProRock'r was introduced on the 84 models. ProRock'r is a double locking trem. |

Hi Laaz, Thanks for the correction, you are right. It's a HardRock'r Trem. This one has no double locking and no fine tuners. |

Flip, What's the serial number on yours? I'm collecting data on this model. So far, August 1984 is the earliest serial number I've come across for the 2nd design (with the ProRocker trem). Post a want ad in the Free Classifieds section and watch eBay like a hawk. You'll find an better bridge in time. Steve (The Bear) |
