I've just received delivery of my new limited edition RGTHRG1 - and have a few questions.

I did find that i have a small bubble or lump, about 0.5-1mm diameter in the print next to the trem. And i must say that the trem cavity finishing isn't great.
Where i'm certainly used to this on ESP LTDs, and to a certain degree Jacksons, i always considered Ibanez to have excellent QC checks in place.

What does one do if there is tiny flaws like this? Send it back? Thats a lot of hassle :-(

I think maybe i'm just used to my RG2550 Prestige being perfect. But at £700 (over $1000) i expected a better finish.

Also - it comes with a standard Prestige hardcase - is it the Iceman that has the giger logo embossed? I'm sure i saw one on ebay with a giger case.

I guess that's a question you have to ask yourself with the finish flaw. Can you live with it, or should you exchange it. And if you exchanged it, could your source secure another one?

Pictures would help.

A "new, limited edition" for over $1,000.00, I'd return it. It should never have left the factory with any flaws, pi$$-poor quality control.

"Can you live with it?" I couldn't, and I wouldn't, not for a new guitar and paying that much money.

Let us know what you decide.

I think 1,000 is the MSRP. I'm seeing them for ~ 699 USD.

I hear Arney's point.. But let's not get carried away with the derogatory QA/QC stuff here. I'd like to see some pictures of the flaw.

I guess I did get carried away. My apologies to one and all. It won't happen again.

I got the shop to pick it up and the replacement came today. This one is perfect. Well, there's a tiny finish blemish on the very tip of the headstock but that's really really minimal.
I'm much happier now. Well, i'll be happier when i get it home and plug it in.

I was slightly dissapointed by the trem, but that's because i'm used to the edge on my RG2550DX Prestige.

I'm considering buying the RGTHRG1 but I was shocked to read a couple of really bad reviews on Harmony Central. Two buyers complained about the poor finish and one gave the impression that it won't take much for the colour to wear off. Then again, there were a couple of encouraging reviews with only minor complaints so maybe there's nothing to worry about. I'd appreciate any feedback you have - are the complaints justified? Or is this guitar worth the money? Thanks very much.
