Laaz: I thought that Artist goldtops were new this year. Anything could have happened, especially in Japan. But I would want a lot more pictures, especially of the back of the headstock to mase sure it wasn't a refin. I've cruised that site before. There's a ton of great stuff. Lots of goodies for Greco and Yamehaha fans. too. One thing I'd like to see is larger images. |

Snowjays: Like I've said before, never say never when it comes to Ibanez. Is this a USA guitar? The only '83 catalog I've seen doesn't list GL as a finish and I've never gold on any ARs in any year except this year. Is this your guitar? Tell us more about it. |

I think they were only released in Japan. If you can read Japanese, here's the site... http://arworld.poke1.jp/myARs.html Some models I've never heard of before. |

Check out the neck inlays on the AR3005CS, and the headstock inlay of the AR1500. Ever seen any like it before? |

Oh yeah, there's a lot of really fine guitars on this page. I've never seen the birdseye tops of an AR330: http://arworld.poke1.jp/parist1982AR330CS.html |

How about this Feb. '79 AR Custom? Looks like a tiger stripe AR500 with newer "smooth heel" neck joint, rosewood veneer headstock, Limited Edition inlay and Super 80s. Looks like the domestic Japanese market was quite a few months ahead of the rest of the world in introducing new construction designs. http://arworld.poke1.jp/kazu1979ARCustomAV.html |

That '79 AR-500 is missing one knob - EQ/preamp volume? It seems closer to a 2622 than AR-500? It was probably transitional. mk |

Wow, that gold AR is nice. Any chance it's a refin? |
