First, why would You want to put them original? The phase switch is barely usable, and there are so much other cool things one could do. The Blazers basicly have a regular 1vol 1tone Strat wiring and a phase switch. Regular Strat wirings are all over the web, perhaps the easiest would be: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/schematics.shtml The phase switch is connected like this: But as said, why would anybody have a phase switch when there are so many better uses for a switch. |

Hi I have a '81 BL500 Blazer redfire (SSS, 1 ton, 1 vol, 5way switch, 1 phase and 1 tapped switch) I had "trancribed" the wiring, and here it is: http://img510.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ibanezbl5005ih.jpg I would like to get rid of the mini switchs, since I don't use them, but I don't understand the SuperTap6 pickups pinout. Can anybody help me with this? How can I re-wire to the same PU's without the mini switchs with full power? Thanks |

The switch doesn't degrade sound quality, so there is really no reason to remove it, just don't use it. However, if You really want... Since the picture doesn't tell which position of the switch splits, your best bet would be to use a multimeter/ohm meter. Measure the resistance between red and blue, then red and black of the neck and bridge pickups (2K-8K). Whichever is greater (blue or black), use that as the positive lead, and solder it to a corresponding spot at the pickup selector. Tape to cover the end of the wire not in use, to make sure it can't touch anything. Done. |

Thanks alot for the tips Guitaki. I understand it perfectly. I've been reading some usefull information about Tapped PU's on the net and now I understant that is basicly a single coils with 2 outputs (high and not so high). Thanks one more time Ricardo |
