Hi There, I was hoping someone could help me with this little Ibanez mystery I’ve been carting around for some years now. I have this black Ibanez, similar to but not exactly the same as a JS. I called Ibanez and all they could tell me was that it was made in 1991. The guitar is fantastic, I liked it as soon as I picked it up (used). Really nice player piece. It has a Floyd, Pull pot coil tap on the tone knob, IBZ USA F1 humbuckers, Gotoh tuners, rosewood fingerboard, locking nut, etc. It says ‘custom made’ on the 21st fret. Here’s the mystery part of it- On the back of the headstock, it has the number F122433 and it has a gold stamp from ‘House of Music 414-547-6772’. After some research, we found out that ‘House’ was the private stock factory for Ibanez artist endorsees. The guitar is in great player condition… ding here and there, been refretted and had a new input jack installed… I was just curious if anyone might now anything about it and/or be able to give me a ball park figure on the value. I don’t have any pics as of yet, that can be remedied easily enough, but if anyone has any clue and could help solve this for me, I would greatly appreciate it. -Paddy |

Pleitsch: Without detailed pictures it's difficult to give any real assistance. I'm interested in the conclusion regarding the "gold stamp from House of Music 414-547-6772" means "that House was the private stock factory for Ibanez artist endorsees." The only Ibanez endorsee facility is in Los Angeles. Most references found on such instruments are something like "LA Custom Shop". Also, the 414 area code is not LA, but Milwaukee, Wisc. Where did you find information about this "house"? |

I got the info from a guy at a music store... go figure... if it sounds too good to be true... I thought that area code looked familiar. |
