Hi! Iīve got a green maxxas mx2 that Iīm thinking of selling. I bought it second hand twelve years ago and I donīt know that much about it. Itīs a solid one, not semi hollowed, with 22 frets, IBZUSA pickups, and floyd rose thingy. (donīt know what you call it in english, sorry.) Itīs not in perfect condition, thereīs two pretty nasty paint damages. But I guess the worst of all is that the serial number tag is missing. I was stupid enough to peel it off when it started to come loose some ten years ago. (I was only sixteen and didnīt know that it might come in handy one day.) What would you say itīs condition is based on the pictures, and how bad is it that thereīs no serial? Best regards Martin |

Martin: I would suggest emailing Orval, he's the resident Maxxas expert. He has owned quite a few and has experience buyng and selling them. Check out his website's SOLD page: http://www.sunflower.com/~mr_ibanez/id24.htm What would make you think it might possibly be a replica? I assume you mean a "fake" Maxxas? I've never heard of anyone going to the trouble of faking one of these guitars. They are very unique, but weren't that successful. |

Johns! Thank you for a swift and helpful answer. The only reason I have for thinking itīs a replica is that I donīt know too much about guitars and how common replicas are, and some of the soldering in the "electronic compartment" seems to be a bit unprofessional, but that might have been done by the previous owner I guess. But the paint is really nice and everything else seems to be the real thing.. the right number of of screws for the lids, the brand of the different parts and so on, so I guess it is a real one. Thanx again. |
