Jnp, Ibanez introduced the Jetking as a retro model. It was styled after some of the 60s guitars you might find in a pawn shop. I haven't seen very much buzz about them, but the fact remains that they are well made, solid players with good pickups (Korean made version of the Super 58 I believe). If you like the looks, I don't think you can go wrong at the price. The styling is really cool I think

I had the JTK1IV and loved it with the coil taps and all. I gave it to my 10 year old son for a birthday present last year. |

I agree with ya Freaky, those JTK1's are a great axe. I was using a JTK1 MLB limited colour model whilst doing the Weekend Warriors gigs a few years back, the coil taps are cool. So many cool retro sounds The neck on these guitars has a great feel to it as well. This pics from our rehearsal's prior to the gig.

I also had a JTK1 back up to last year... it's actually what got me into Ibanez. They are great neat little guitars if you ask me. Looked great, apart from the light coloured 3-a-side headstock. mine was like Cappy's but the run of the mill dark red. Sounded fine too, and very playable. For the price you cant go wrong. And remember that even cheap guitars like these today are the collectables of the future!!!! |

Lads, be aware that there is a VERY RARE jetking up on german ebay right now. Dont all bid at once, but it is very rare, dont forget! The reason for its rarity seems to be because it hasnt been played much.... I ask you!!!! |

I like the body and pickups on this guitar...but the neck (in my opinion) is terrible. Too bad. |

Sure: http://www.qksrv.net/click-1802666-10381315?loc=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI .dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D7389263273 To be fair, seller says it looks vintage but it technically new. It's just the rarity claim that i found amusing. |

i tried the JTK2 recently, despite being made in Indonesia, it's a well crafted instrument. the humbuckers in tapped mode are some of the sweetest tones i've come across, especially the neck unit. |

i dig the new ones. but i don't like the "jet king" lettering on the top pickgaurd, and i don't like the headstock. i am thinking of picking up one the first ones. the JTK1. all the ones i've seen on ebay have a blonde headstock, yet there is one on gbase with what looks like a black headstock. anyone know any info about a headstock color change when these guitars were being manufactured? http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDetails.aspx?Item=850271 |

I've got two jet king 2's. I love them. They're so inexpensive that I'm modifying one as an experiment (its in pieces now...). The other JTK2 is my main guitar in my indie band. why shouldn't indie guitars be well made, sound great, look great, and be inexpensive? Ibanez thought the same. The tone is sweet in them. If you feel like hearing what we're doing with it you hear a little of our rehearsal recordings at: www.myspace.com/williswoho Also, I think I'm going to sell my seven string 540S from 1994. Anybody have any idea what its worth? Any other jet king fans out there? |
