I have an SA160QMAM with the chrome hardware. Does the bridge/trem on this guitar come in black on some other guitar, by any chance? I sure think it would look better that way. |

Mrblanche: According to the parts listing on Ibanez.com the SAT 30 trem only comes in chrome. |

Ah, well. Just goes to show what sort of taste I have. I suppose I could buy one, get it powedercoated black, etc. |

Mrblanche, supposedly, the new SA2120 comes with consmo (black chrome) hardware. You may be able to order replacements. Or you could take you parts to a plater that can do a black finish. Either way will not be cheap - you'll probably spend what you paid for the guitar. -Sven |

Funkle: Could you point me to the source info for the SA2120 SAT Pro hardware coming in Cosmo Black? I don't see it in any of the parts lists, specs or literature that I got at the show. The pictures of this model do show darker hardware, but I wonder if that may be Satin Chrome picking up dark reflection when the guitar was photographed. Regardless of the color, it seems that the SAT Pro will fit in place of the SAT 30. According to the parts list from 2004, the anchor studs are the same. If the width between them is the same, it could work. I'd definitely check it out with Hoshino, before ordering. |

John, it is listed as "cosmo" at the ibanez site, if you navigate to the SA2120. This is the black chrome used on RGs and S guitars, no? It looks like a smokey colored chrome in the picture. |

Funkle: Is that what CK: Hardware color stands for? Sorry I missed it. OK then, looks to be a likely replacement for Mrblanche's chrome SAT30. |

Thanks, guys. Like you say, one needs to balance what might look "really neat" with what "costs too much!" By the way, call me Mike. |

By the way, is there anywhere I can see a closeup of the SAT Pro bridge? |

I have one on my SA1260, it's a really nice piece of hardware. Simple, smooth and solid. I can safely say it would be way more cost effective to buy another guitar with the parts you like rather than changing them out on your guitar. -Sven |

I think matte chrome is the coolest. Here's an SA with matte chrome hardware: http://www.qksrv.net/click-1802666-10381315?loc=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI .dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D7386552078 |

Actually, that's what's on my guitar now. I see the immediate problem with converting to the SAT Pro bridge; it has the strings coming up from underneath. |

Mike, that shouldn't matter. You'd be replacing the entire bridge assembly. The strings come up from holed in the bottom of the block. |

I came to that conclusion, when I thought about it. Got an RG170 "accidentally" on e-bay this week. |
