Well I have a RS1000 with a ProRocker Bridge and i dont like the bridge at all. I am thinking of either putting a good trem on it or just a stoptail bridge either like a LesPaul or one peice. Has anyone done this and have a great resulting sound? I am just wondering how it will turn out soundwise. Will it be an improvement or shouldnt i mess with it? thanks! |

I've changed the trem on an RS505 to a Floyd Rose. You have to plug the stud holes and redrill. For vintage value, this may not be a good thing. For playability and functionality, it's necessary, IMHO. |

Mine certainly does not sound dark. I can't compare it to the original tone because the Floyd has been on there for years. I use Gotoh licensed Floyds because I like Gotoh hardware in general, and I don't think brands like Schaller are worth double the price. Also, I never use the Floyd locking nut. I buy the Kahler style. Much smaller holes in your headstock. |

how much do you think changing the bridge would decrease the value in the future? i dont really think it makes much of an impact with current prices and to be honest i would probably prefer a floyd rose on mine as ive just spent the last 4 months finding a part for it because the cheap pot metal had snapped only to find when i was changing it there is another piece that looks like it wont hold out for much longer. |

i actually dont want a trem on it. i was thinking of getting a Stop tailpiece for it instead. what do you think? but made of steel cause i dont like the crappy aluminum or whatever is on that trem. |

Tonne: Then why not just block it with a hunk of dense wood? It's a reversible mod. |

I dont want to block the trem. i have already done that. I just want a bridge that is made of better material, for overall tone and sustain. I was wondering if anyone has changed the bridge out and had good results with a stoptail or something like that. By the way are the nuts on these guitars made of bone or plastic? |

If you are that unhappy with the guitar, why not sell it and get one you like? The Bear |

Ok, here we go again, the question is, for anyone who didnt get it, Has anyone changed the Hardrocker Pro ( sorry bout the big difference) on a RS1000 to a stoptail? Was it a good change in the tone?? Whoever doesnt get it, i can explain it again in a different way. I am good at teaching children. lol |

The question is: Why go to all the trouble and expense of converting a trem to a hardtail? My guess is that nobody's done the specific mod because it's not cost effective. Maybe you should buy a Gibson. I'll be happy to explain the last remark if you don't get it. The Bear |
