I am new to the site and have tried to search previous posts to avoid asking questions that have been addressed. I have an 84’ destroyer DT-555 with stock pro rock’r locking tremolo. I am missing a couple of the fine tuner knobs and the string lock assembly is totally shot. My guitar guy basically set it up to be a fixed tail piece, set all the way back with out fine tuners and removed the string lock clamps, he didn’t block it. Even with this setup the thing won’t stay in tune, lacks sustain on several strings, buzz’s at the bridge, and makes the string tension feel uneven. I have taken to it to a couple of different people and basically they all set it up in the same configuration. I would like to replace the bridge with another locking tremolo system, and maybe replace the nut and machine heads. It seems many of these guitars get fitted with Kahlers and I have read posts on this site suggesting OFR systems. I don’t really have a lot of experience with either and would love to hear any suggestions or opinions in regard to a replacement system.

Does anyone know if I could install a flat mount kahler (2300/flyer) over the existing pro rock'r route? I only ask because the kahler site states that a floyd route is too large for a flat mount, thanks for any help.
