I just got a '81 AR300... I bought it from the first owner. He kept it always in the case so, it's in really good shape... I'm VERY happy!

Does anybody have a trussrod wrench for the AR300? Where can I get one?
Thanks a lot!

Thanks Paul! Really nice of you.

Do you think it needs to be an original one? Maybe it's a standart type and I could find a similar one..?

If I can't find in the coming days (week) I'll call you... I can't see the time to get it setup.

They are pretty standard. You can also use a socket with a nut driver. You would need a deep size socket.

Does anybody have any literature about setting up an AR300? I would really appreciate any information.

What about the radius? Do I need to set the saddles height according to a radius?

String height (min/max... Recommendations)?
What would be the max string gauge?

BTW, what do you think about mixing string sets? Like putting on a 0.11 top "E" string and a set of 0.10 for the other 5? So you would have some more "body" when playing a melody on the top "E". Some people mention the risk of twisting the neck... Would this (a thicker top E string) pose any risk?

Thank you guys in advance.

I might finally get a Digicam this week (I'm still trying to learn something about it before deciding what to buy)... I'll post some pics.

Here's a really clean looking '82 AR300CS on ebay:

However, the $1500.00 starting price seems unrealistic. Wait for it to be listed again.

I was wondering myself. The '81 I picked up last month went for $775 and it's in just as good a shape as this one. Plus it still has it's original frets in great shape. Someone must of really wanted this one. It's all about the timing. I almost went nuts on a Lukather tonight but I stopped myself with 4 minutes to spare. All the best to who ever got it. It does look beautiful!!!!
Peace
