Hi, I just had a cool email conv with a guy called Kevin. Its all about The RS500nt which I seem to own. According to him there were about 300 made which makes it a very rare piece. (ranging $750-1000??) Its an original 1980 neck thru s-s-s piece but it has its dings n things. Instead of putting this thing on ebay Id like to know if anyone here can tell me something about this guitar and it value. Or just confirm with what Kevin said :-). If youre interested feel free to email me. I Live in Holland(EU). For the mods: this isnt strictly a buy/sell post please dont move. |

300 units isn't "Very Rare" in Ibanez terms. Low production, yes. As for value, even though it's a low production neck-through model, there's not much interest in Roadsters. I'd guess no more than $500 on eBay. For comparison, my Roadstar RS1400 (also neck-though) is one of 167 made. I'd be lucky to get $500 for it. Just my $.02 Steve |

That sounds more like the price range I had in mind. Still Im wondering what to do with it. Its from 1980, I bought it in 1994 or so and time has taken its toll. The clear coat on the rear is in bad shape right were my (or previous owners) beltbuckle sits. it has some dings on side, the gold plating of course is a little worn. I have one fret (19th) that has a sharp cut at the 3rd string (not broken). But it has the warmest sound a ever heard coming out of an electric guitar without sound processors. What to do what to do. Overhaul or sell and buy back a roadstar II (or similar)? |
