Can anyone tell me if Ibanez ever made a guitar with a 24 3/4" scale neck and a standard (non-locking) tremolo? I've heard that in 1992 and '93, the 470S and SF470 (and maybe the SV470?) models were equipped with the shorter scale necks - did any of these come with non-locking trem? I'm in the market for a guitar like that...

The 470S and SF470 are 24.75" with hardtails. Not sure about the SV's.

The AR150 fit's your criteria. I think the DT155 does too.

The SV has a 25.5" scale.

What are your preferences in terms of age and country of origin?

I'm not sure what your budget is, but the Anderson Cobra S is one of the finest guitars I've ever laid my hands on. they are over 2K. It is a strat style with a 24 3/4" scale and optional trem. This beauty has a chambered body and solid rosewood neck:

Thanks for the feedback! Price is no object lol! I've heard of Anderson guitars, of course, but am not familiar with the specifics of their product line. Thanks for the data and beautiful pic - I will definitely check them out - maybe I can pick up a used one somewhere : ). Thanks again!

I've been watching Andersons on eBay, getting ready to make my move :-) They usually sell for just under 2K. I discovered a local shop that has a great selection of Andersons, and I have played many of the variations. The fretwork and finish is wonderful. Similar feel to the Ibanez Prestige models but even nicer.

I honestly can't think of too many Ibanez models other than the ones Steve mentioned with your requirements.

There's the AWD83T Artcore Semihollow

What about the Talmans? Were they 24 3/4" scale guitars? Why do they never publish this info?

I thought Talman's were 24.75" for many years, but recently learned they are 25.5" (with the possible exception of the TC825). Anybody know for sure?

Steve
