Did the early 770dx have a routed body with the pickups screwed to the white pickguard (jem style)?.I hear it did but I can't find any proof of it.Also there's no body color matching for the knobs or pickups.Any of you know?} |

The earliest RG770DX I can find is in the 1991-92 catalog. The body is back routed with the pickups mounted to a clear pickguard. The knobs, sharktooth inlays, and headstock match the body color. The fretboard is maple. The 1992-93 catalog shows the same configuration. What you are describing sounds more like an RG1200. Steve |

I think somebody has played "Mix & Match Parts" with this guitar. A '91 RG770DX should have F2/C3/F4 pickups. PS: I dunno how many "RG Gurus" yer gonna find around here. The Bear |
